👋 Welcome to the J4K Goalkeeper Community!
Hi Keepers and Parents, As you probably know, goalkeeping is a VERY LONELY position for both keepers and parents. This is why J4K created this community - So PLEASE take advantage as there is NOTHING like this on the planet! Please take a few minutes to do the below. 1️⃣ Introduce Yourself - Tell us your name and what country you’re from. - Share ONE thing you’d love to get out of this community (training tips, glove advice, scholarship info, etc.). IMPORTANT: Because there are children in this community, we’re committed to keeping it safe and supportive for every goalkeeper and parent. This is a community that looks out for each other — if someone tries to spam, troll, bully, or sell directly or indirectly, they’re usually reported quickly. J4K has ZERO tolerance for any of this, and accounts that break these rules will be banned, helping keep the community safe for all. Welcome to the community Ray Newland Founder J4K PS: If you are also deadly serious about your/your childs goalkeeping and want to become a Pro Keeper or gain USA scholarship, check out some of the other more advanced programs we do. End of season awards
This will be my first season with this club to attend end of season awards and is being held on Sunday. My old club used to do bbq's and picnics. Kick around and bouncy castles We used to also have 4 trophies other then the participants trophy that everyone got. Apparently my new club will have a kick about if it's dry and you can get a tea or coffee and there is only 3 additional trophies. Definitely doesn't sound as fun 😕 🤣🤣 What do your club do?
What are your summer plans (GK-wise)?
With the season coming to an end soon — league, training sessions, tournaments — I was wondering what everyone is planning to do over the summer from a goalkeeping perspective. Are your kids (or yourselves as gks) taking a complete break, doing some light individual training, joining camps, or just enjoying other sports for a while? In our case, I’ll be signing my son up for a 3-week summer camp. It’s fully focused on goalkeeper-specific training, running from 9am to 4pm, with healthy snacks and lunch included, plus a couple of hours in the pool to survive the heat 😅 He actually went last year as well, and both he and we were really happy with the experience. The camp can actually be booked week by week, and if it was up to Lizer he’d probably stay there all summer… but that might be a bit too expensive for me 😉 To be honest, it also helps a lot with work-life balance — while they’re there, we can actually focus on work knowing they’re busy doing something they enjoy, well looked after… and fed too! Here in Spain, kids get almost two months off school, while most of us are lucky if we get one month of holidays… so it’s a great way to keep him active, improving, and enjoying himself at the same time. Curious to hear what everyone else is doing!
