👋 Welcome to the J4K Goalkeeper Community!
Hi Keepers and Parents As you probably know, goalkeeping is a VERY LONELY position for both keepers and parents. If you are a parent who has no idea how to help your child, let the leading goalkeeper coaching school since 1998 hold you and your child by the hand. We have helped hundreds of keepers go pro or gain USA scholarships. For example, Adam Davies, who plays for Wales and was in the 2022 World Cup, is an ex-J4K student. This is exactly why J4K created this community—so you never have to do this alone again. There is absolutely nothing like this on the planet! To get started, please take two minutes to complete these two steps: 1️⃣ Introduce Yourself Below: Tell us your name, what country you’re from, and share ONE thing you or your child is struggling with right now (handling, positioning, or confidence). 2️⃣ Claim Your Free Asset: I have unlocked The Free Goalkeeper Confidence Blueprint completely for free to eliminate match-day anxiety before your next game. IMPORTANT: Because there are children in the community, we have ZERO tolerance for spam, bullying, or indirect selling. Accounts breaking these rules are reported instantly and banned. 1:1 or group sessions
If youre a player or parent thinking of attending extra gk session have you properly considered if the choice is a good one? Sure, finding the right coach for your needs is a must but is it the right environment.....let's look. 1:1 PROS -Dedicated time with a coach/specialist -100% observation and feedback -Gets to know the gk and can session plan around the individual. -Great for technical development -No peer pressure -Development at your own rate CONS -Can be expensive to maintain -Hard to gain tactical experience outside of discussion -Can be limiting depending on equipment and coach experience -Lose the social interaction -Hard to create realism and unpredictability Group sessions PROS -Great peer interaction -Better match simulation session given higher numbers -Learn from others -Tends to be cheaper -build social skills -direct performance comparison -increased session variation CONS -less individual observation by coach -ability differences can be vast -struggle to perform with peer pressure -not personalised to suit individual -dont flow as well in some cases This list is not exhaustive.... What are your feelings toward both that are available

Advice needed - being blocked at freekicks
I’m after a bit of advice from the group if possible. I’ve noticed this season, that my son who is 8 (also quite short for his age) gets deliberately blocked when facing free kicks. I’ve noticed this increase as a tactic from opposition coaches (and parents) where they will get at least one player to stand directly in front of him, stopping him from seeing the ball. Sometimes there’s also physical contact and the opposition players blocking him jumping up and down. Unfortunately, this has resulted in him conceding goals from free kicks when this has happened. My question is, have you come across this before and how do you suggest best to deal with it to give Cormac the best chance of seeing the ball so he can at least try to make saves. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
Tough session
Tonight my 1:1 session was really tough not because of the drills but I've come down with a cold and really sore throat making it really hard but I battled on and did my best. Here are a few photos. Mum as usual will do a video soon
