Intro and Overview of Me
Hi everyone,
I figured it would be good to introduce myself and tell my story up to this point. I picked up TTRPG's in college and DMed for my brother and his friends when they were in High school. I watched Critical Role and Dungeons of Drakenhiem trying to get inspiration for how to run my games. I've got player types from across the spectrum: the novelist background writers, to the metagaming professional optimizers, to the casual "always on phone" audience.
I love these guys like my little brothers (and sister) but life has gotten real since teenage years. Now we're scattered across the country trying to play using a Text-based Discord channel. It worked for the first few months, but has now gone off the radar for them.
When I found the Fishel's book, it opened my eyes to what I'd been missing. Now I'm diving into DM prep videos, world building inspiration, and other nerds stuff.
After closed the book on that campaign, I'm going to run the Plundering of Pine Hollow adventure from the back of the Proactive Roleplay book. I'm curious if my 6 players are going to need to build their own backstories or just show up with class and race figures out? How much prep before hand do I need for Session One? I want to get my feet wet with this new way of playing DnD and need guidance. I feel like I've lost my touch for DMing
Anyway, glad to be here and looking forward to learning from y'all!
