Draft Character Goals - feedback requests
Drafted character goals for a magus I am playing in a pirate themed campaign as an exercise to see if I understand the Character Goals concepts from Ch1 Proactive Roleplaying. Any feedback or tips would be appreciated. Am I on the right track?
Context: Kitaru is a ship mechanic recently promoted to captain when his brother died pursuing an azarketi cult.
  • LT - Gain recognition of rival pirate crews as having the fastest ship on the seas. Because a sage of Besmara told me this is how I would earn her favor. But several rivals are interested in the same thing.
  • MT - Unearth and crush (stop) the azarketi cult responsible for raids on settlements througouht the Trusa Archipeligo. Because it will finish a task my brother cannot (he died trying, implied promise). But the trail has gone cold.
  • ST - Find a guide that can lead me to the Sunken Temple, rumored base of the azarketi cult. Because we don’t have enough information. But I am wrong and it is not really their base.
Separately, my bio templates have included things like personality absolutes (link), fears, and NPC bonds. Do you see these kinds of things as adjacent to goals for proactive roleplaying or are they really a different thing?
