A few people mentioned to me that they didn't know what to set as their goal. So I wanted to make a post sharing exactly how to set a SMART goal that aligns with your life!
What is a SMART goal? Glad you asked!
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Achievable
R - Relevant
T - Time-bound
Let's break it down...
1. Specific
The goal is clear and precise, not vague.
Example: Instead of βI want to get healthier,β say βI will work out at the gym three times per week.β
2. Measurable
Thereβs a way to track progress or know when itβs done.
Example: βIncrease monthly revenue by $3,000β is measurable; βmake more moneyβ is not.
3. Achievable
The goal is realistic and within reach, given time, skills, and resources.
Example: βSign 2 new clients this monthβ is achievable; βSign 200 clients this monthβ likely isnβt (unless you're a superboss, which if you're in this group is entirely possible π).
4. Relevant
The goal aligns with your broader vision and priorities. It matters.
Example: If your vision is to grow your coaching practice, then βimproving client retentionβ is relevant; βlearning Italianβ might be great, but not relevant to that business outcome. But it might be relevant to your life if you're going to Italy!
5. Time-bound
The goal has a deadline, which creates urgency and focus.
Example: βPublish 8 blog posts in 60 daysβ instead of βpublish blog posts regularly.β This is built-in to the challenge. You have 30 days!
SMART goal example for an ADHD entrepreneur:
βI will book 8 discovery calls with qualified prospects in the next 30 days by sending 5 personalized outreach messages every weekday.β
- Specific: book discovery calls
- Measurable: 8 calls
- Achievable: 5 outreach/day is doable
- Relevant: directly tied to business growth
- Time-bound: 30 days
But what about the "aligns with your life" part? Again... glad you asked π
The purpose of this challenge is to help you build momentum in your life in a way that feels good and creates real progress towards your dreams and desires. It CAN be a business goal (and many will use it for thatβI am!). But it doesn't have to be.
Here are some ideas of goals you can set for this 30-day challenge:
π― Make a regular gym/fitness routine (muy importante!)
π― Do regular outreach to generate more sales
π― Stick to a consistent social media posting schedule
π― Improve your diet by adding healthy stuff or removing unhealthy stuff
π― Improve your mental health by adding routines like yoga, meditation, movement, time in nature, etc.
Here is my π₯ Scattered to Focused π― goal:
I will finalize the next launch of the Focus Founders Accelerator in the first 10 days by refining our "grand slam" offer and our program outline. In the next 20 days, the rest of the challenge my goal will be to book 10 sales calls per week (30 total). I will know when I've achieved this because I will A) have a document clearly outlining our program and offer, and B) have booked 30 sales calls!
To further assist y'all, I've taken the liberty of SMART-ifying some people's goals that they commented on the post announcing the challenge. Feel free to use what I've shared below, or refine it to make it your own! "I will land new 5 clients by commenting on 5 posts in Facebook or Skool mom groups every day, following up with my warm leads, and posting on Instagram (or whatever social media platform you're using) every weekday." "I will reach 100 Skool community members and finalize my money model for monetizing the group by watching and implementing one video in the Money Models course every day, sharing my community with my old clients, and posting and commenting on Skool every day for 20 minutes." "I will get 5 clients in my new program launch by posting to my Skool community every day and sending 5 outreach messages per day to book sales calls." "I will land my first 2 clients by sending 5 DMs to new people on Skool every day, posting in a Skool group 3 times per week, and posting 5 comments to other Skool posts every day." "I will land 4 clients in my new mentorship program by sending 5 DMs every day, posting on social media once a day, and joining 3-5 other Skool or Facebook communities where female spaceholders are hanging out." "I will launch a five day challenge to help my community launch their first business by spending 30 minutes every day planning the challenge and preparing a list of people to send it to." "I will recruit 3 adventurers for my Inner Child Quest program by reaching out to at least 5 people every day, sending follow ups, and joining 2-3 new Skool communities that cater to my ideal target adventurers." "I will find my Advisory Board by attending at least 1 networking event every week and sending 5 DMs per day to people who I either want to be on the board or who might know someone who would be interested in joining the board." "I will create our off peak season roadmap in the first 15 days by spending 3 hours every week in deep work, zero distraction brainstorming sessions. I will spend the next 15 days implementing and refining the plan based on the team's feedback." I'll give you ideas if you comment on the Sept challenge post! Feel free to comment below if you have questions on what I shared here! And...
Comment on this post in the NEXT 24 HOURS and I will personally help you refine it based on my 10+ years of business experience!
