I seem to run quite high blood glucose so my GKI is quite high even when I’m in nutritional ketosis and I’m quite disappointed often when I test. I’ve been pretty much on plan for the last couple of weeks with very little higher carb food and my ketones have been 0.6/0.7 ish, which I’ve been pleased with. Today I had brunch out with my 2-year old grandson so I chose avocado, poached eggs and smoked salmon on sourdough, as he usually loves smoked salmon (today he hardly ate anything). I ate a little of the sourdough
crust which is a treat for me, and had a coffee with milk. Before supper this evening I decided to test even though I didn’t think it would be great due to the milk and a bit of crust. BUT BG 5.1 (low for me) ketones 1.6 - 1.6!! Never had them that high before. And GKI 3.6, my lowest ever. Am so pleased!
