Troops,
It's been a fruitful summer to say the least. For the first time in 6 years, I took some time off and chilled with my kids during their summer break. This is all part of my new master plan to actually plan my year out and make sure to include downtime.
Previously, I would just wing it and say I'll slow down in the summer but in reality, I'd just sneak in podcasts at night and create coaching programs early in the morning while doing sales calls at lunch.
But no more.
Being "off" was not that easy, though, since I felt compelled to check my messages and was desperate to comment on social media about the latest RFK Jr. video or major research breakthrough on psychedelics for veterans, but I resisted.
This time away from constantly posting and commenting gave me some time to think about why I do this. I realized that it was for some extrinsic gratification that wasn't very fulfilling. Ultimately, I enjoy teaching and improving people's lives, and that's going to be my main focus from now on.
The fun part about this last month of July was that I rediscovered things I thoroughly enjoy doing:
- Swimming
- Playing Guitar
- Teaching
- Writing
I won't get into great detail on this post about all of them, but let's just say it's really allowed me to calm down and enjoy life more.
❓What Does This All Mean, Dave?
Tangibly, it means that this community will have way more focus on getting you unstuck and the results that you want with your health and fitness. In simple terms, this means:
- There will be one video coaching session a week where I'll tackle your posted questions
- One community, in-person event every year
- Courses built by popular demand
- One long-form post per week to spark discussion about our health
On deck I've got lots to share but I'll save that for next week's post. Needless to say, less has been more and I'm excited to share with you.
I'd love to hear what you got up to this summer. 👇
