Programming Muay Thai Athlete
I have been helping train a Muay Thai athlete with strength and conditioning for a while . I am so proud of how far he’s grown with his abilities🙏🏼
His next fight has been pushed back to January 23rd. This week we are peaking the program with max lifts. His numbers and ability have increased significantly this month. As he officially has a new fight day, he noted he likes the workouts we have been doing but would like higher intensity work and to be pushed even harder in the gym
Here is what we have completed this last month. Any thoughts recommendations on how I can make his condition better would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼
This month I helped him learn new movements such as Zercher squat and sumo deadlift as well as more single limb lifts where the first couple weeks was focused on helping balance sides. for instance with his coil press he struggled with one side stepping his foot through as well as grounding himself while he punched heavy loads. With dumbbell floor chest presses one of his arms lagged in movement compared to the other arm.
