Filling you in on the friend hangout I shared earlier…
My daughter Evelynne and her friend Ian ended up hanging out with his siblings too — with his mom chaperoning yesterday Friday 13th. I finally met his mom and she is so kind and open. She shared she’s a stay-at-home mom of four and really believes in teaching her kids to come to her about anything. Her philosophy really resonated with me: being too strict can make kids sneaky — creating a safe space for honesty matters most.
She also shared that Ian (a shelter boy 🥹) has opened up to her about how pretty, smart, and polite Evelynne is — which absolutely melted my heart.
We both agreed how much parenting shows through our kids, and it felt so good connecting with another mom who shares the same values. Instant click. 💛
The kids met up at 5pm and wrapped up around 8:30pm at Dave & Buster’s — and had the BEST time. Later that night, Ian even texted me to thank me for allowing Evelynne to hang out and said they had such a fun and memorable evening.
My heart is full. Moments like this remind me why intentional parenting matters so much. Grateful for aligned families, happy kids, and meaningful connections. 🫶✨
P.S.
This boy texted me on Thursday night stressing about making her bracelet. I told him to make a bracelet from his heart and Evelynne will love it. More so because it is personable and made by him. Told him don’t stay up too late. Attached is the bracelet he shared. He mentioned my daughter asked him to make her a bracelet that she will think of him when she wear it.
