This week didnât feel like a âwinningâ week.
I wore a lot of hatsâdaughter, caregiver, chauffeur, problem solver, fitness enthusiastâŚand somewhere in between, I forgot to prioritize myself.
Between helping my daughter get ready for camp, taking both of my parents to their medical appointments, running to Home Depot to help my dad fix their shower, and trying to keep life movingâŚI was simply tired.
Not âI need another cup of coffeeâ tired.
Tired as fudge. đ
I also didnât get the rest and recovery my body needed.
This morning I got to the gym at 7:00 AM and didnât leave until 9:30 AM.
Normally I move much faster, but today I listened to my body. I rested longer between sets, modified where I needed to, and accepted that todayâs workout wasnât going to look like my best. And you know what?
I still walked away with two unexpected winsđ:
đ 700 workouts completed
đ New PR: 160-lb Dumbbell Glute Bridge (+20 lbs)
The biggest lesson?
Consistency doesnât always look impressive.
Sometimes consistency is moving slower.
Sometimes itâs lowering expectations without lowering your standards.
Sometimes itâs simply refusing to quit when motivation is nowhere to be found. The scale may move slowly. Progress may feel slow.
Life will always have seasons that demand more from us.
But every time we choose to show up anywayâŚthose choices compound.
Todayâs workout wasnât about proving how strong I am.
It was about proving I can still keep promises to myself even on the weeks when life asks me to wear every hat.
â¤ď¸ Question for you: Have you ever had a workout where simply showing up was the biggest victory?
