Kenny Atkinson, head coach for the Cavs, said they were winning the series 2-1 "analytically." He was getting a ton of slack online, rightfully so.
I understand what he's saying; however, the reality is that they are down 3-0.
With the rise in analytics in sports, everything needs to be "optimized." The truth is, sports aren't cut and dry. There are too many variables to assess, many of which won't even show up on the stat sheet.
What are your guys' thoughts on his comments? Are analytics useful? Overrated?
