Powerful You
How are you feeling today? Was it a normal boring day, or did you get after something awesome? For me it started out as a normal boring day. I got to work, I made the mistake of checking emails, and I went down a rabbit hole. I didn’t want to go down. It wasn’t until 10 am that I decided. I’ve gotta get out of here and do something better So I went for a 6k hike. - You believe in your own potential: You are powerful when you understand that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. - Continuous Learning: You are powerful because you never stop learning and are constantly seeking to improve yourself and your skills. - Abundant Gratitude: You practice abundant gratitude, recognising and appreciating the abundance in your life.. - Relentless Drive: You have a relentless drive, never giving up until you achieve your desired outcome. - Bold Vision: You have a bold vision, setting your sights on big goals and pursuing them with passion and purpose. - Radical Self-Care: You practice radical self-care, prioritising your physical, emotional, and mental health to fuel limitless potential. - Extreme Ownership: You take extreme ownership of your life, taking responsibility for your actions and outcomes. What resonates with you? Is there something you’re doing to make yourself feel like you’ve accomplished something special?

Planet Earth. You Are A Crew!
I love this. NASA Artemis Astronaut, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, talking about what makes a crew. When she was originally asked the question several years ago, she mentioned it's about being on a mission, eating and working together. Now that she's back from 10 days in space with 3 other crew members, she has revised what a crew means to her. - The crew is in it, all the time, no matter what - They are stroking together, all the time, with the same purpose - They are willing to sacrifice silently for each other - That gives grace - That holds accountable - A crew has the same cares and the same needs - A crew is inescapably, beautifully, dutifully linked She then goes on to highlight looking at Earth 🌏 from a great distance, and while it looked beautiful, the most amazing part was the amount of empty blackness that surrounded it. We're just a lifeboat hanging un-disturbingly in the universe. Planet Earth. You are a crew. Considering the name of this community, it's clear that being part of a crew is important to me. Doesn't have to be in a plane, or a boat, or a spaceship. It's a group of people with a mission to accomplish, and that mission can be anything. It can be flying a plane, conducting major surgery, running a busy ER, teaching a class, building a house or even building a Skool community. In our Skool communities, we live it. Working together, all in, sacrificing silently, bound by the same cares, the same needs, the same mission. Let’s hold each other accountable, give each other grace, and fly - beautifully, dutifully, inescapably linked.

Systems and People
HOP principle no.3 Systems Drive Behaviour! What is a system that works so well that you can’t get enough of it? Your car, your kitchen, your grocery store? Concurrently, what is the system that you just get so frustrated by? Getting your car serviced, a messy kitchen or finding a car park when you go shopping? The airport system is a complex one. They can be stressful, busy and rude. My trip through Sydney Airport was none of the above. It was actually brilliant. Following recent upgrades it’s actually quite delightful to get through despite the massive crowds of anxious travellers. The whole process left me feeling very comfortable and quite happy. Systems drive behaviour. It comes at a cost, but that cost speaks volumes for how people will behave within that system. The way we treat people is also part of a system that drives behaviour. I’ve been in Brisbane for the past couple of days and it has definitely been a people oriented trip. Critical meetings, and farewelling a gentleman that has been in the Air Force for 45 years of dedicated service. Showing your presence, kindness, and empathy around these situations speaks volumes for how the system operates. His farewell speech included a homage to how important it is to treat every person in your organisation like they matter, because if you do they stay and will always reward you with good work. If you don’t want to invest the time or money to improve it, behaviour within your people will show that they don’t like it and they will walk away. This is why investing in your people and your systems is so important. Never ever stop looking after the system that looks after your people. Take a look at your systems this week. Are they building people up or wearing them down?

New High Performance Modules Added
I've had some success tonight and added a few more modules to the High-Performance Teams package within the classroom. You'll find active listening, emotional intelligence and well-being packages that are an awesome baseline for building high-performance teams within your workplace. The added bonus of these skills is that they're really relatable within the family environment as well. I mean, who doesn't like an emotionally intelligent partner that actually listens to you? It's a win-win for everybody. Once again, if you're interested in looking into these modules, I'd be more than happy to offer free access to the first few people who put their hand up.
