Immersion vs Research
Most copywriters STRUGGLE day after day to write converting copy for their clients…
Not because they can't write…
Or even cause they need to learn more secrets…
It's because they are trying to RESEARCH - instead of IMMERSE in their market.
Immersion eats Research for breakfast!
When you were growing up and you learned to speak your native language…
How did you do it?
Did you do it with Grammar textbooks? Professors? And tests?
Or did you have immersion from people around you day in and day out until you just started speaking naturally like everyone else?
You know the answer.
And it's the same with copywriting…
Most copywriters do RESEARCH on their niche.
Yes, they theoretically understand their niche.
They can tell you their problems, dreams and fears.
But they can't SPEAK to their niche.
I'll give you a very simple example to prove the point.
COPY WRITTEN BASED ON THEORY / RESEARCH:
"Hello copywriters! Wouldn't it be great if you could advance your career working with big companies who compensate you well and give you compensation based on your performance?"
COPY WRITTEN BASED ON SPEAKING THE LANGUAGE OF A COPYWRITER:
"Hey, wouldn't it be great if you could hit $10k/mo working your own schedule and have dream clients banging on your door offering to pay you premium rates and even add a bonus if you can beat their controls?"
Do you see it?
Both of these are technically correct. And they say the same thing.
Both are also written in English and have almost the same amount of words.
But one is written by someone who understands the copywriting niche theoretically -
and the second one is written by someone who SPEAKS the language copywriters speak.
Are you getting it?
That's why I don't care about research.
I want to IMMERSE in the LANGUAGE of my niche/market/prospect.
I wanna speak to them so well they say "ONE OF US! ONE OF US!"
