@Zahid Ali All of them. There's no way to know for sure who is going to make the decision of hiring a copywriter. Imagine this situation. You sent an email to the CMO, Joe Owner of a company with 10-50 employees. In the email you include some free sample of the work you'd do for them. They say "Thanks! I'll test these out right away and reach back out if it performs!". You notice they use your emails/ads/content/etc. You reach out and ask how they performed and get ignored. A few weeks passed and you they're still using your work. They wouldn't continue using your work if it wasn't performing. In your eyes you did great work, and they like it, so they just wanted "free work". So, they must be cheap and not making money. Or perhaps the CMO doesn't check his own emails. Instead, he has his assistant Aaron Employee. The assistant wants a promotion, so they run your copy without saying where he/she/they/it(never know nowadays) got it from. If you had also sent the email to other people in the company, you have more chances that you would send to someone who actually checks their own emails, can prove that you're the mastermind behind the amazing copy, and is willing to give you a shot at writing for the company, even if it's not exactly the same kind of copy you wrote in your email. That's why I say reach out to everyone. You never know who you're actually emailing.

@Nabeel Azeez Maybe the reason why my cold outreach was ineffective a year and a half ago was because I was reaching out to the wrong people. Thanks Nabeel.
Matthew Volkwyn 0 - $25k/- month
Got mail.... from Matthew the maverick Volkwyn Wonder how many of you got it, and read it It was a sizable google doc about his exact steps to go from 0 - 25k within few years I want to know how many of you are using that to chart your journey He speaks of 3 methods of client acquisition: Outreach Organic via Content Relation building Who's tried any or all of these, to a successful point? Where do you falter? Would help me too, to know your paths

They all work, and also all don't work if you don't get something else right first. Just like you test copy for clients you test your copy for your outreach. What DM introduction are people responding to the most? What email are people responding to the most? What post are people responding to the most? Only way to know for sure is to have enough volume to get good data. The first time I tried freelancing my problem was volume. I made quick decisions or switched outreach methods before doing enough volume to know whether what I was already doing was working. So, I'd suggest choosing one method and doing it for at least 3 months before switching to something else. I ended up having to go back to corporate after dealing with a bad client. Now, I've switched to helping my wife with her offer, while I work my 9-5 since she recently got laid off and doesn't want to go back to corporate. That's another route. Start your own offer... solve your own problems... then sell the solution to other business owners.
Can a copywriter be a good creative strategist? Stefan Georgi doesn't seem to think so
I saw this conversation on Twitter and thought it worth sharing with you >> Among all the Creative Strategist skills tests I've seen recently (30+): Copywriters surprisingly make the worst candidates when they try to fit this role. They often miss or dismiss the importance of visuals and focus too much on overt direct response. – Jason / @JasonJh1319 >> This actually doesn't surprise me too much. Most copywriters have the mentality of "I get paid to write words." This was true pre-AI and many of them haven't changed their ethos to get with the times. Meanwhile the great copywriters have always acted as creative strategists - providing input on crucial design decisions. That's one of the things that made them great. – Stefan Georgi And here's a conversation I took part in on Facebook. >> “It’s over for copywriters, everyone wants a creative strategist now.” Bruh a creative strategist is literally just a f***in meta ads copywriter, calm down. – Sean Ferres >> It is just copywriting. – Nabeel Azeez >> And strategy... and briefs. So long as you can write a creative brief and analyze data, you're gucci. – Heidi Anspauch >> I agree with you. That's copywriting. – Nabeel Azeez What this looks like to me is there's a divide in understanding what copywriting is. And that divide exists between... - Copywriters who started before it was sold as a “business opportunity” by course creators - Copywriters who started after The first group had no courses or YouTube channels to learn from. They had to read books and old newsletters and watch or listen to tape recordings (or hope those newsletters and recordings had been put online.) They had to hand-copy sales letters and advertorials and magalogs. And in the course of doing so, they picked up the “media” skills along the way. - A-pile/B-pile - Space ads - Editorial - Media buying - …And so on The second group got into copywriting from a course that promised they'd make 10k per month working two to four hours a week writing emails in Google docs.

@Esha Aleem If you watch the replay, they actually give you everything you need to get started, as long as you have the basic copywriting skills. They even mentioned the software to use to create the visuals. I used it to create different versions of a book cover, and it executed perfectly after I understood how it's expecting me to prompt it.
