Trust Is Actually A Business Problem
Having confidence and clarity are a product of trust. Repetitions of tuning into your intuition, power and voice to make decisions builds this over time (not surprising, our brains like proof and will reinforce it🤯). You do this hundreds of times each day. But over the years, our self trust often erodes because of people pleasing, saying yes when you want to say no, hiding, avoiding, overcompensating and being who others' want us to be (underneath that is typically fear). And here's a truth most entrepreneurs and business owners don't want to hear: 💥 Business problems are often downstream of the trust problem.💥 Turning this around starts with honesty. Vote on where is this impacting you and/or your business the most (be honest 😉) 👇🏼

The First Step in Stopping Second Guessing
When You No Longer Feel Like YOU
A virtual colleague of my recently shared an experience she had I've heard all too often by women in the midst of midlife transitions. The floodgates open and tears streamed down her face as she heard someone say, “you know it’s that moment when you no longer feel like yourself”. 😭😭 She went on to say, "I didn’t even know who I was anymore, much less what normal felt like. Perimenopause made me question everything and has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life." I was so glad she was honest and raw, mentioning the part that women really don't speak about out loud. 💜 "I don't feel like myself" or "I don't know who I am anymore" are 2 of the most common things I hear from the women, especially business owners, I work with diving into the mental and emotional aspects of this transition. The more we normalize this and let women know there is support, resources and they aren't alone, the faster we can change the narrative on perimenopause, menopause and midlife. 💥‼️ This is a time for us to let go of what isn't serving us, allow the space and grace for evolving, and expand into who we really are in this chapter of life. I had tears in my eyes reading her share because I've been there too. Perimenopause and menopause shift things in ways we could've never imagined. It doesn't have to be the way the media and society like to portray. It can be the beginning of the rest and best time of your life (or as I like to say, "I'm rocking the back half" 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 ). If you're in this season of life or went through it already, what advice would you give another woman about the journey and how it relates to her business? 👇🏼
The Midlife Truth No One Talks About
Midlife is a word that brings up all of feels. So much of that is based on societal norms, beliefs and projections. 🙄🤬 For the record, I think this all complete 💩! If you're in front of it, you might think things like "old, irrelevant, invisible, past your prime." I know I did until I got there... and it happens sooner and faster than you think. Going through it can be confusing with all of the physical symptoms and emotions. You're going through a massive multi-year transition that is unique to you and the life you've led. We often stumble through the earlier stages chasing symptoms (and rightfully so because who wants to be irritable, tired, brain foggy, and sad). 😵‍💫 Addressing that usually takes the edge off and you have a moment to think more clearly. BUT, sitting in this space can be uncomfortable because all of the things we've shoved down, ignored, and suppressed come up. This can feel jarring, especially if you're someone whose had success and built your identity on it. I certainly did. It made me face shame, worthiness and many shadow aspects of myself that I ignored. Ironically, before this I would've called myself confident, worthy and successful but I realized this identity was built on performing and achieving to prove myself worth. 🤯😮 I had to be broken down and raw to reveal the real me. This was HARD. I spent the greater part of a month crying, shedding, rebuilding and evolving. And I had no choice because my body was forcing me to face decades of things I buried. It felt like treading water in a hurricane with a blow up life preserver.🛟💨 But I'm SO grateful (even though it SUCKED going through it). After the confusion and sadness from grieving who I thought I was, the real and authentic me started to emerge. I was becoming, and I refused to shrink and play small for others. And I choose to see this as a gift and a wake up call. When we get to the heart of it, we get to fully step into and embody who we really are and share the gift of ourselves with the world.
