Want to teach a masterclass on the calendar? You only have until Friday.
Every two months, I offer the community the opportunity to learn about how to create a high-value, high-converting masterclass and then extend the invitation to use what you've learned to offer your own masterclass in the CLASSIFIEDS as a way of building your authority, getting more exposure, and (hopefully) growing your community. This month, the kids are at home and we have vacation planned, so I will be offering the recording of the session at 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆. This masterclass 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, so if you are planning on giving a masterclass sometime in the next two months, you'll want to sign up now. You can watch it at your convenience! So how do you get started? 1. Become a premium member for only $3 per month. You can actually do this anytime before you book your session. 2. 2. Take the prerequisite workshop called "How to Teach a High Value, High Converting Masterclass." I usually teach this live for $27, but because it's summer and the kids are home, instead I'm offering up the replay from the last time I taught it for only $22! 3. The reason for the prerequisite is that it's very important the masterclasses deliver value and are not just pitch fests. If the classes you provide deliver value, then people want to attend and actually look to the calendar to see what's happening. If even a few are a waste of time for people then it ruins it for everyone! 4. After you take the workshop, you then have access to the Google form to submit to me your chosen date and time. I will promote it and pin it in the community and put it on the calendar. Your first masterclass is free, and any subsequent masterclasses you would like to provide are subject to a $10 administrative fee. That's it! Pretty simple. You can find the prerequisite masterclass at the top of the classroom!

Ever wonder how you can let people know about your Skool community? Feel like you have so much to offer but don't know how to get people involved? Wish there was somewhere you were actually allowed to promote yourself and talk about your offer? Look no further! The Skool Classifieds are the place where you are not only allowed to promote yourself, but you are actually encouraged to do so! Like the Classifieds section of your local newspaper or the Community Message Board at the gym, this is the place to let people know what you do and what you offer. Here's how it works: 1. Invite other Skoolers you know to join the group using your invite link. The more people join, the more people there are to promote to! 2. You can post once a day only. This is to keep the group from getting spammy. If it's spammy, people won't read and you won't get noticed. Post as many days in a row as you want, but please do not post the same thing day after day - mix it up! 3. Make sure you add your post to the appropriate group/heading. Please see below for a description of what each group is for. If you don't see a group that is appropriate, message me. 4. Self-Promotion is what this group is all about, but please do not DM people with your offers. You will be removed from the group for doing this. 5. Introduce yourself in this thread, and then scroll up and find someone you have something in common with. Reach out. There are some really amazing people here! 😉 This is a place for us to support each other for our mutual benefit. Hate speech, offensive language, or general negativity will be deleted, and you will be removed from the group. *Please check out this post for more tips on how to get great results from your posts. And also this post by one of our own community members who has had great success growing his group through the CLASSIFIEDS. To learn How to Make Your Classifeds' Posts Work Harder for You, check out this masterclass by one of our moderators, @Faith Adebayo

Your Canva folder isn’t a Trophy Case…
Is your Canva graveyard as bad as your ChatGPT graveyard? 😂 You had the idea. You opened Canva. You started making the thing. Then… You got distracted. Started another image. Had another idea. Opened another file. Nothing ever actually got launched. Nothing ever made it out into the world. It might be time to ship some shit. That’s a big part of what we’re doing inside Defunk’d Design 😉 Yeah… we help people make better marketing images. More importantly… We help people stop overthinking them long enough to actually hit publish. Because the best image in the world doesn’t do much sitting in a Canva folder. 👇🏻 How many unfinished Canva designs do you think are collecting dust in your account right now?

Update on GrowthBoostGate🥲
If anyone’s interested in the rest of the story here’s what I’ve found. And if you don’t want to read this just MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF GROWTH BOOST. Fatal mistakes are being made. Quick backstory: Skool has claimed 30% of a $250 a month subscription as their own for a client I have provided a complete paper trail for, who came via my own organic social media, saying she is a “growth boost client.” I’m now losing $75 a month (plus all the other platform fees) for a paying client I brought to the platform and Skool refuses to budge. Skool support’s response was to agree this was unfair, suggest I refund the client and take payment off platform. To do this, I risk churn of $250 a month. I shared, completely frustrated, what had happened in Skoolers and asked Sam Ovens for help. He shut down comments and messaged me basically regurgitating what Support said and saying their back end showed my client searched for holistic health in discovery and joined that way. I’m still waiting on confirmation from my client but I have to say, even this sounds weird. Why would she go to browser, go to Skool, and search me in discovery when I had provided the exact link? I pushed back and was basically told by Sam himself that they don’t have the manpower to check screenshots and “it has to work for 10s of millions of people.” And according to Support, there is no way to change attribution in their system. This means Skool rolled out a new feature with no way to correct mistakes. But where things get sketchy. There was never a formal notification made to creators about growth boost, at least not one I received. I found out about it only after coming across one of my own ads in the wild and going actively to look in Skoolers and try and find out what I’d missed. Skool (Sam himself) claims it works like an affiliate link system. However, according to the FTC in the US and EU consumer protection laws, AFFILIATE LINKS MUST BE DISCLOSED. Neither I nor my client were aware they were taking a (large) cut until I realized I had money missing. And not a little money. A lot of money.
