Gary Vaynerchuk described it as jab, jab, jab, right hook. Give value three times before you ask for anything.
It sounds simple. Most community owners ignore it entirely😒
The pattern I see repeatedly is owners who launch a Skool community, post an offer in week one, get no takers, and conclude that Skool doesn't convert. But the sequence is wrong, not the platform. Their audience doesn't know them yet. There's no trust built, no goodwill in the account. The ask comes before anyone has a reason to say yes.
The jab isn't a tease. It isn't a "valuable" post that withholds the actual insight. It's a complete piece of help that lands in someone's lap and makes them better at something before they've spent a penny. Do that three times and the right hook, the offer, the invitation, the ask, lands in a completely different way.
They've already decided you're worth listening to.
The owners who convert consistently aren't the ones with the slickest sales pages. They're the ones who were useful before they were commercial.
If you're at the stage where you're building a Skool community and trying to turn it into consistent monthly revenue, that's exactly what we work on inside the Skool Monetisation Lab.
