Would I know how to join in here… or just scroll?
I dropped into a community last week like I’d never seen it before…
No instructions… no context… just landed and looked around.
First thought?
“I think I’m supposed to read… not participate.”
Nothing was wrong.
But nothing pulled me in either.
Here are the first three things I noticed right away:
- Posts didn’t leave room for me
They were informative… but complete.
- No signs my voice was wanted
No prompts… no openings…no questions to answer...stories to share... no “you can jump in here.”
- It felt like a room already in progress
That moment matters more than most people realize.
Because if I don’t step in early… I usually don’t step in later.
That outside perspective is almost impossible to recreate on your own.
