Have you ever been saying all the “right” things to your child…
but inside you’re thinking:
- Please just stop.
- I can’t do this again.
- Why is everything so hard?
Your voice might sound calm.
But underneath it there can still be
- fear,
- frustration,
- pressure,
- helplessness or
- sheer exhaustion.
And sensitive children can be incredibly responsive to what is happening underneath the words, not just the words themselves.
That was a big shift in my own understanding of parenting.
I stopped only asking:
“What should I say or do differently?”
and started becoming curious about:
“What is actually active in me right now?”
Not to blame myself.
To understand the whole interaction differently.
Because sometimes the behaviour we can see is only one part of what is happening.
If this is a way of looking at parenting you haven’t explored before, I share much more about it inside my free Energy-Wise Parenting Hub.
