The Power of Tiny Steps
Some weeks, I feel like the tortoise 🐢 — juggling so many hats and projects that it’s easy to feel like I’m going nowhere. But I’ve learned a secret: progress doesn’t have to be giant leaps. Tiny steps move you forward.
One of my favorite ways to stay on track is my Post-It note technique. Here’s how it works:
  • I break every big task into small, doable chunks.
  • Each chunk gets its own Post-It note.
  • I only focus on the one I’m working on right now, hiding the rest so I’m not overwhelmed.
This way, I never see the mountain — just the next step. It keeps me moving, even on weeks when life feels like a whirlwind.
I recently learned about the Pomodoro Technique, which is kind of a perfect complement. You work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break, repeating the cycle. It’s a simple reminder that focused, short bursts of work add up to real progress — without burning out.
The truth is, little by little really does work. Whether it’s Post-Its, Pomodoros, or just showing up for a single step, momentum builds quietly, steadily, and without overwhelm.
So if you’re feeling stuck or swamped this week, try this: pick the next tiny step, take it, and let the rest wait. Slow and steady wins the race — and eventually, everything gets done.
💛 Your challenge today: Pick one task, break it into a single, small step, and take it. Post-Its optional, but highly recommended. 😉
