This is one of the biggest myths that stops people from even trying.
That you need to find some specialist Indian grocery before you can begin.
That your local supermarket won't cut it.
Not true at all.
Your regular supermarket already stocks everything you need to make a genuinely good curry:
- Turmeric, ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, chilli powder
- Tinned tomatoes and coconut milk
- Lentils and chickpeas
- Fresh ginger and garlic
That's a dal, a curry, a marinade, and a vegetable dish all from local supermarket.
The only thing that stops people from cooking Indian food at home is the belief that it's complicated or that they need things they can't find.
Neither is true.
Inside The Indian Cooking Club I teach complete beginners to cook real Indian food at home using just 7 spices from any supermarket. No experience needed. No specialist shops required.
What's one ingredient you always assumed you couldn't find?
Let me know in the comments.
I'll tell you exactly where to get it or what to use instead.
