Has your situational awareness ever paid off?

One time that comes to my mind is the time my wife and I had gotten out of our vehicle at a parking lot of a German castle and started walking up toward the castle. I noticed that a girl bent down beind a car that was about to back up to tie her shoes. I got behind the car and stood there until the girl was done. No one knew about it but I probably saved that girl from getting injured.
