🐾Panting when it is not hot 🐾 Panting may indicate stress, anxiety, pain, excitement, or physical discomfort. 🐾Staring at another dog🐾 A hard, fixed stare can indicate tension, concern, guarding, predatory interest, or social pressure. 🐾Blocking another dog or person 🐾 Standing in doorways, stepping between individuals, or controlling movement may reflect guarding, social pressure, insecurity, or learned behavior. 🐾Sneezing during play🐾 Dogs sometimes sneeze to communicate playful intent or release excitement. 🐾Trigger Stacking🐾 A dog handles several situations reasonably well and then suddenly reacts strongly to something that normally would not cause a major response. 🐾 Barrier Frustration 🐾 Intense barking or lunging behind a fence, window, gate, crate, leash, or car window. 🐾Spatial Pressure🐾 The dog responds when a person or another dog moves closer, leans over them, blocks their path, crowds them, or enters their resting space. The response may include moving away, freezing, turning the head, lowering the body, growling, or snapping. There is so much going on with our dogs that we miss because we were never told what to look for! If you want to know more about your dogs behaviors and what they mean, join us in my community!
