Have you ever had one of those periods when life seems to throw everything at you, but your business still needs your attention?
That's been my reality lately.
While I was away, my mom had a fall, which brought some unexpected concerns and responsibilities.
Then came the heartbreaking tragedy involving soldiers at CFB Wainwright. This hit especially close to home because it was my husband's former military unit. We have been trying to remain available to support the injured soldiers, their families, and others connected to the unit.
And in the middle of all this, I'm still running and building my business.
There are clients to support, a community to engage with, content to create, and plans I want to move forward.
But something I've been very aware of lately is this:

As entrepreneurs, it is easy to keep looking at the to-do list without recognizing everything else that's requiring our energy.
And sometimes we start feeling guilty because we're not getting as much done as we normally would.
But life doesn't stop happening because we own a business.
I have been making a conscious effort to pay attention to my own well-being through all of this.

โ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐บ๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ธ๐. Stepping away before I'm completely depleted, rather than waiting until my body forces me to stop.

One thing my work in nervous system regulation has taught me is that stress doesn't only come from the tasks we're doing.
It can also come from everything we're emotionally carrying.
And those demands matter, even when they don't appear on our calendars.
Sometimes taking care of your business means taking care of yourself first.
Not because you are giving up on your goals.
But because you're building something you want to be able to sustain.

When life becomes demanding, do you find it easy to adjust your business expectations?
Or do you struggle with guilt when you need to slow down?
And what's one thing you've found genuinely helps you look after yourself during those seasons?
