The great Sandow
Most of you likely heard of Eugen Sandow, the famous strongman and body builder. He was born in 1867 and trained using progressive weights, starting up the modern body building sport. His statue is presented at the Mr Olympia competition.
I’m reading a history book and came upon this passage:
“”…he maintained that to create great strength required more than exercise. “A careful study of the laws of hygiene and anatomy” was required. He also advised against overdoing bodybuilding. “The wise man will continue to live so long as his egotism remains dormant.””
Keith strongly advises to leave your ego at the door just as Sandow did over 100 years ago!
