Most men over 40 are sabotaging their training
Most men over 40 are sabotaging their training and they don't even know it. Not in the gym. Outside of it. You can train perfectly five days a week. Right weight, right form, right mind-muscle connection. But if you're going to bed at midnight, eating junk between meals, and running on stress with no outlet, you are working against yourself every single session. Recovery is where the muscle gets built. The gym is just the stimulus. I protect my sleep like it's a business asset. Phone down early. Eyes covered. Mouth taped. I look ridiculous, and I wake up recovered. That's the trade I'll take every time. I cut out the seed oils, the alcohol, the processed junk. Not because I'm obsessed with being perfect. Because I know exactly what those things do to my recovery, my inflammation, and my hormones. The data doesn't lie. You want to know why some men in their 50s and 60s look and move better than guys in their 30s? It's not genetics. It's what they do between workouts. The gym is 20% of this. The other 80% is how you live. What's the one thing outside the gym you know you need to fix but keep putting off? Drop it below. 👇

Sleep & Recovery have been my TOP priority since January. My hygiene is outstanding and things are starting to come around. When you take care of the fundamentals, the rest fall into place. Workouts are better, nutrition is better (proven that sleep deprivation causes poor food choices and binging.). A well rested mind will do a hell of a better job taking care of the rest of the body. Focus on sleep and recovery; it’s whT BD brothers do; you’ll make gains, you’ll bust through plateaus, you’ll feel better and energized throughout the day. There is no downside, and Keith has said it a million times - it’s a non-negotiable!
Just found your YouTube channel and I like what I see
I am on a journey back to fitness. In the past 15 months I have lost 67 lbs. I am back to the same weight I was when we deployed in 2003 (profile pic). I still have some belly fat to get rid of, but I am working on building up my muscle to get back in the same shape I was back then.

@Jake Briscoe First, thanks for your service, Jake. Second, job well done with getting rid of the 67 lbs. and getting back in the gym (I beat ya by ONE pound 😂 😆). Patience brother, the muscle will grow, you're committed, disciplined, and BD.
To my 105 lbs down.
Here is the difference. First one was last week. Second pic was may of 2025

@Matthew Cox Congrats, brother! Great discipline and commitment to being BD!
Cardio with bad knees
Does anyone have any ideas for cardio when you have bad knees? I have bilateral meniscal tears so running is out. I can power walk that’s one thing.

I had total knee replacement 4 months ago and I started rucking. Low impact, burns 50% more calories while carrying 10 lbs. or more, Keeps me in Zone 2 unless I hit some hills. Great workout and my knees don't scream at me afterward.
Built a new homegym
I have long been thinking about having a new homegym setup. It's now done. I went with the Force USA G1 and the Freak Athlete ABX Weight Bench with all attachments. Overall this setup fits my needs. It provides cables that I have missed for many years. I also threw in a barbell. Yes I have "sinned" and done bench press. It felt great so that is something I will do once in a while. Maybe each 3 weeks, but with lighter weights for more reps. The ABX bench is expensive, but it's solid. Very solid and highly flexible. The dumbbells are Trulap 92 lbs version (42 kg). I am also quite happy for those. The G1 also comes with a pull up bar. Each day I use it for a 30 second hang. Just hanging there also called dead hang. It loosen spinal cord and gives other benefits you can look up yourself.
