NOTE: Instead of a Scent Of The Day, I am introducing a fragrance I wear for going out on a date, attending a party, or simply enjoying the evening.
My hometown had a Mother-Son Dance in honor of Mother's Day, so I took my mother for an early birthday celebration (she'll be 85 in June). Since the event was a red-carpet event, I debuted my latest fragrance, Chris Collins' Savant Manhattan Cherry. Talk about a conversation starter! Released in March, Savant is a boozy fragrance named after the Manhattan cocktail, with a blend of bold notes of rich whiskey and a hint of rum. I had more than a dozen people ask me what cologne I was wearing because they were intrigued by it.
The whiskey accord is very strong (I could smell it through the cardboard packaging), with the dark cherry accord absorbing it. The oak chips give a whiskey barrel feeling, yet the cinnamon and clove give it some warmth and contrast. The performance is great (the projection lasts about seven hours, then it lasts another five hours as a skin scent).
Savant is an excellent fragrance for social gatherings, particularly black tie affairs and signature events. It's very much worth buying if you like distinctive boozy fragrances with a cherry note.
