SOTD: Xerjoff Naxos
I’m late to the party on this one, but today was only my second time sampling Xerjoff Naxos. Released in 2015 and created by Sergio Momo, Naxos opens with bergamot, lemon, and lavender before moving into a rich heart of honey, cinnamon, and cashmeran. The drydown brings tobacco leaf, tonka bean, and vanilla.
My first impression is that this is much smoother and more refined than I expected. With all the hype surrounding Naxos, I was prepared for something loud and overwhelming, but on my skin it feels remarkably well balanced. The honey and tobacco are the standouts, creating a warm, slightly sweet, slightly spicy combination that manages to feel luxurious without becoming heavy.
I can definitely see why this one has become so popular. It has enough sweetness to be inviting, enough tobacco to give it character, and enough freshness in the opening to keep it from feeling dense. For me, this is an ideal fall and winter fragrance, especially for evenings, dinners, holidays, and relaxed social occasions. First wear verdict: the hype may actually be justified on this one.
