SOTD – Roasted Chestnut - Rirana Parfume – Fresh Start October

Good evening brotherhood! Hope your day has been smeltastic!

Little later post today as I wanted to give this FRESH START OCTOBER banger a full wear.

Today I’m bringing you a new one for me and probably for the hood too as I haven’t seen it in the search bar. Hopefully, I give this one the love it deserves.

This fragrance is linear… almost as linear as they come. I mean, the notes don’t even list a top, mid, or base for crying out loud! But don’t get it twisted… this is meant to be that way, and it’s an absolute banger.

If you’ve put your nose on Maison Margiela’s By The Fireplace, this one has a similar vibe but is WAAAAY better, niche quality and lasts forever!

Let’s get to the juice…

Since it’s linear, I’m not going to bother boring you with the opening, closing, blah blah blah. This fragrance features a roasted chestnut accord (duh) perfectly blended with a smoky, almost ashy feel. There’s a zing of clove and cinnamon that adds just the right amount of dimension.

You also get a vanillic, honey, Gula Melaka (palm sugar) tone that brings creamy sweetness bt not too sweet and overdone. Although not listed, I swear I pick up some plum in there too (Yes, Lord!), and those who know me know I love me some plum.

Like the other fragrance I reviewed from Rirana (Oriental Orchid), this one is composed of about 60–70% essential oil mixed with 30–40% denatured alcohol, so it shines on your skin and lasts forever and three days.

The projection is average not beast mode but just right, about 2–3 feet for the first 4–5 hours. Sillage sits comfortably at the average mark, which makes it super versatile: perfect for the office, a date night with the wifey, or even a casual walk around town.
