SOTD: Oud Cadenza by Maison Crivelli

Good Morning Fragrance another snowy frigid day in a Chicago I have paid my dues to the rat race and I am blessed to work from home. I decided to give a fragrance some love that has been sitting for a while.

Oud Cadenza opens with a promising swirl of dark woods and ambered warmth, but as it settles the illusion falters and the synthetic edge of the oud becomes impossible to ignore. What begins as a rich, shadowed melody turns into something slightly plastic and overly polished, losing the depth and mystery true oud is known for. Still, there’s an appealing resinous glow that keeps the fragrance wearable and even enjoyable in moments, giving it a modern sleekness that some may appreciate. As a scent of the day it offers intrigue without perfection, landing at a respectable 7.5 rating.
