AAM are really starting to put up the heat lately, I've had many samples and quite a few have become full bottles on my shelf. Lathani is another popular one, but is it shelf worthy? Let's look. It's described as a fruity, woody, Oriental fragrance, taking middle eastern classics such as Bakhoor, leather & Oud then pairing it with modern, bright, and sweet notes forwhat should be a truly unique profile? I'm not sold so far, went through the full 2ml sample, but it just ain't working for me this time.
It opens with a bright, sweet, and uplifting burst. The candied fruit note gives a noticeable sweetness, which is immediately balanced by a fresh or slightly tart quality. The heart is where the signature Arabian character emerges. The Oud is rich but is often described as wearable and not overly challenging. The Rosemary is a crucial element, adding a vibrant, herbaceous, and aromatic twist that cuts through the sweetness and oud.The dry-down is luxurious, warm, and deeply oriental. Leather provides a sophisticated, slightly rugged texture, while Bakhoor (incense/smoked wood chips) gives it an authentic, smoky, and resinous depth that lingers for a time.
So why am I not enjoying it, maybe it's my skin, I will get another sample to try at a later stage, but right now it smells better on a paper strip than my arm. It's said to be a beast and last 12+ hrs, I'm getting like 4 max and little to no projection? That said I'd wear this as a winter evening scent. Hopefully the next time I try it, it will fare better so the score is based of today's experience.
