Yesterday, I polled the group on which of my Discovery Sets I should dive into next. The Nishane Time Capsule set drew top billing alongside the Memo set, leaving my casting vote to make the final call.
Five extraits to try, in alphabetical order. Today? Deziro.
This packs a citrus fresh punch from the get go, which is both strong and juicy. The orange is clearly dominant, and honestly the marine notes are more of a background suggestion at this point. As the fruit begins to settle, there's the unmistakeable Blue Scent DNA underpinning proceedings, which is very welcome. A hint of marine scent is spotted with a peppery spice (that could be the mint note punching above its weight to my uncultured nose). The fragrance is very smooth and well blended, and it forms a very similar cozy scent bubble to that of Bleu De Chanel EDP.
The minty pepper deepens as the scent develops, and the projection is never less that intense at any point. As I move around my space, the sillage is exceptional, and as I type now at almost 13 hours since initial spray I'm still bathed in the Blue Heaven bubble. Granted, I've been largely deskbound on this chilly day (other than a trip to the chippy for my traditional Friday lunch), but even so, I can't fault the power.
I rate this highly. It's a great Blue scent. Thing is, I've at least three great Blue scents, each of which has its strength. My go-to choices in this space are BDC EDP and Dylan Blue, and with Sauvage and ADG and others in the wings... while I do think that I would definitely wear Deziro, and it's definitely rubbing shoulders with the strongest scents in the space, I don't reach for the Blues often enough to justify yet another bottle on the shelf. If I saw this at a deep discount, or if I empty one of its scentmates and need a replacement, then I'd pick this up for sure.
And if you're in the market for a Blue scent yourself, don't overlook this one.
