SOTD: Blue Spirit by Zara 31/03/2026

Also known as Man Blue Spirit, this is a popular Zara release, in the vein of Invictus with a blue, aquatic, bubblegum DNA. Despite being released in 2017, it's been repackaged & no doubt reformulated with further releases in 2019/21/22. Zara don't credit perfumers as a rule, with many of their releases coming from large fragrance houses like Puif or Firmenich. It's a a woody aromatic that comes with fresh Shower & synthetic sweetness.

Up top, you will get Sea Notes, Mandarin Orange, and Pepper. It starts with a sharp, synthetic blast of citrus & salty aquatic notes. It’s very energetic & loud, designed to grab attention immediately. At the heart, Ylang-Ylang, Lavender & Nutmeg. As it settles, the lavender & ylang-ylang take over, giving it a sweet, slightly floral, creamy texture. This is where it resembles that Invictus DNA. At its base, the leather & woods are very subtle; they mostly serve to keep the sweetness from becoming too cloying, though the fragrance remains sweet throughout its life.

As with many of these releases, 4hrs is about as good as it's gonna get, a bit longer on clothes. Projections is descent for the first hour, before settling into a personal scent bubble. A 90ml edt of this is only €15.95., so you can easily top up. Obviously best suited for the warmer months, a good gaily wear, will work in the office or gym.
