I forgot just how good this one was. It was the only PDM I ever had my nose on prior to this. Its extremley similar to liquid Brun by French Ave5nie which I also own & reviewed a while ago.
Althair opens with a bright and inviting blend of cinnamon, orange blossom & bergamot. That cinnamon provides a warm, spicy kick right from the start.
At t he heart of the fragrance, bourbon vanilla is the star of the show. It's a refined, wam & textured vanilla. Extremely gourmand. Like a vanilla dessert. The Elemi resin adds a in a balsamic, slightly peppery vibe. The dry down is were it showcases a sensual & sophisticated blend of praline, ambroxan, guaiac wood & musk. The praline adds to the dessert-like sweetness, while the woods and musk provide depth, warmth & a long-lasting trail.
Althair as expected performs well. A solid 6 or 7 hours on the skin with a noticeable projection for the first 2 to 3 hours. Its warm, sweet & spicy character makes it particularly well-suited for colder weather, such as Autumn & winter, and often for evening wear. However, some find it versatile enough for year-round wear, especially if they prefer richer scents for daily use. Yet again my only contention is the rediculous pricing starting at €215 for a 75ml bottle? These guys aint selling liquid gold. For that money I would be more than happy to stick with my €30 bottle of liquid Brun. Shame, if it was more reasonable id be definitly adding a bottle. Just not at this pirce.
