I finally received a group shipment from ATH last night, and got the other brothers' products out to them today! After putting my items all on paper, I chose Boss Bastard as my sotd, since I'm off from work and can experiment a little with a new fragrance.

I read the notes, and wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm pretty happy with it! The open is sweet, powdery, with amber, tobacco, woods, and a touch of citrus that fades quickly. Cacao supports the tobacco and woody notes, but it's not gourmandy or overly sweet. It's a gorgeous blend, with just enough sweetness for balance. The listed rum note may be contributing also, but it's not a boozy rum. At this point, sillage is moderate. At 45 min the woods take on an aromatic characteristic, adding some airyness and lift. Everything remains beautifully stable with moderate to steady-mild sillage to the 90 min mark.

At 2 hrs BB has evolved into mild, sweetish, warm tobacco and smooth woods with steady mild sillage. Not as strong as Tabac or Tabac Extreme, it is still a tobacco frag. At 4 hrs the mild tobacco and woods remain, as does the sillage. I was still catching the scent off my bare arms to about the 7 hr mark, and it entered skin scent territory after that.

The first 2 hours of this fragrance are really good, and it remained very warm and satisfying as the blend began to soften. Despite the name, it's not obnoxious or confrontational in any way, and I'm looking forward to many more wears!
