Side by Side Comparison of two LV Imagination Dupes
Today I am doing a comparison of Karus Blu Spice by Khadlaj and Illusion by Grandeur (Neither of these are listed in Fragrantica).
Karus Blu Spice open with a blast of mint and citrus notes. At 15 Min I am picking up some of the spiciness but still have the citrus undertones. The mint has settled down nicely. At 30 Min I am still picking up on the citrus as the dominant accord. The Tea notes are there but not very prevalent. At 120 Min I am disappointed. I am not a person who focuses on performance to enjoy a fragrance, but I need to be able to smell it! (LOL). Performance on this fragrance is terrible and at 2 hours it is less than a skin scent. I am struggling to get anything off my skin. This just became an instant gym fragrance where all I need is a few hours performance. Glad I only paid less than $30 for this one. Definitely not even close to LV Imagination on performance.
Illusion opens with a very fresh but somewhat synthetic scent. At 15 Min the synthetic tones are gone and I am smelling a soapy and clean scent but not really any specific notes. Think of Dove soap bar. at 30 Min I am finally picking up some of the Tea notes. However, not a very strong projection. At 120 Min the dry down on this fragrance is actually very good and there are many similarities to LV Imagination. There is a sweet tea scent that at 2 hours is a skin scent but I can still enjoy. Re-application will definately be needed if you plan to wear more than 3 hours, but the scent at dry down is definitely worth it for the price.
Of these two I prefer the Illusion. The drydown is very nice and I feel that it is much closer Imagination than Karus Blu Spice.
