Sampling: Memo Paris Argentina
I wanted to try a rose and oud fragrance today, even though those two notes usually aren’t my thing. Argentina ended up being a pleasant surprise. It opens with a spicy, slightly smoky edge that feels dry and confident rather than sweet or cloying.
As it develops, the rose and a little oud come forward in a jammy way, but it never turns syrupy or heavy. If you’ve tried rose-oud fragrances that feel overly sweet or thick (Initio’s Can’t get enough sugar bombs), this sits on the opposite end of that spectrum. The rose feels textured and earthy, and the oud stays smooth and supportive instead of loud or funky.
Longevity: around 8 to 12 + on clothe.
Sillage: moderate, controlled, and classy
Overall Opinion: Argentina by Memo Paris is a really solid introduction to rose and Oud for someone who normally avoids both. I can see why people say it can lean feminine but I can see a gentleman pulling this one off in formal/Date night wear.
