Roja Manhattan EDP ...a little disappointed
When I think Roja I think refined excellence. I think hours, months of time invested creating a masterpiece.
As the first Roja fragrance that I've purchased I was relatively excited to get this in. Many of the offerings from the house often have so many notes in them that without sampling...it can be overwhelming deciphering what may actually appeal to you. This is a classic validating point of the importance of sampling first!!
My blind buy success rate is very high since I generally have a keen ability to know what I like/would like.
In this case this is a great fragrance don't get me wrong..... however if you own TF tobacco vanille or a great clone like Pandora Scents Charuto Tobacco vanille you'll find that the mid to dry down are almost identical. The opening reminds me of Mancera's Amber Fever and you'll find the florals used in both are exactly the same. The opening is very short lived here... I'd say 15 minutes max before it begins transitioning into the mid. So for a fraction of the price if you successfully layer Mancera Amber Fever with Tobacco Vanille( OG or Clone) you could practically replicate the scent profile of Manhattan by Roja.
Not bad at all but I just expected more.
