Gentlemen, I finally made it home! It was an awesome, extremely exhausting trip.
The highlight of the trip had to be spending time with and . As some of you may already know, we met for breakfast. We got to know each other and talked about our favorite hobby over a wonderful meal. Julio surprised me by gifting me a fragrance book called El Gran Libro Del Perfume (The Big Book of Perfume). Hopefully, after I read it, my post will be up to some of y’all's standards 🤣. He also gave me a ton of samples to work through.
Fernando then surprised me by driving me to My Scent Journey, which was voted the number one Niche Store in the world for 2025. I was able to meet the owner, Eduard, who walked us through his store for over two hours, helping me find the perfect fragrance. In the end, I ended up finding three that were perfect for me. I believe Fernando may have taken two home himself!
I ended up bringing three bottles home, but I wanted something that was not readily available here. I’m sure you could find all three, but you'd probably have to actively be looking for them.
Tierra de Agave (Sicili Fragrances)
I couldn’t come to Mexico without taking home a fragrance made in Mexico. I chose Tierra de Agave from a fragrance house called Sicili Fragrances, made by Mexican perfumers inspired by fragrances from Italy. The house has over 30 fragrances. My top three were Mint and Tonic, Fruto Di Eva, and of course, the one I chose, Tierra De Agave.
This fragrance's top note is Lemon; its middle notes are Mezcal, Smoke, and Labdanum; and its base notes are Agave and Earthy Notes. Even though this fragrance has notes of agave and Mezcal, this is by no means a boozy fragrance. It’s more a delightful, smoky, citrusy, earthy, and woody concoction.
MOKO (Wolf Brothers)
I also chose MOKO (no, not the slang word) a fragrance from the Polish house Wolf Brothers. The house has 10 fragrances that are inspired by the wild animals and untamed beauty of the Bieszczady Mountains, and their scents often use animal names to describe the fragrances.
MOKO, while not an animal, is the goddess associated with fertility in Slavic mythology. The fragrance notes are:
• Top Notes: Water Notes, Raspberry, Fig Tree, and Akigalawood
• Middle Notes: Salicylic Acid, Lily of the Valley, and Cedarwood
• Base Notes: Ambroxan, Sandalwood, and Oakmoss
It’s a beautiful, watery, and fruity fragrance.
Omega (Sevano)
My final choice is Omega from a Swiss fragrance house called Sevano. This house only has three fragrances: Omega, Roya, and Verca. All three were wonderful fragrances, and to be honest, Omega may not have been my top pick from the house if the others were readily available. It might have been a coin flip.
Following the citrus theme, this one has a saltiness to it that is definitely addicting. The notes are:
• Top Notes: Lemon, Grapefruit, Black Pepper
• Middle Notes: Tea Rose, Cedarwood, Vetiver, Amber
• Base Notes: Dry Amber, Sea Breeze, Moss
I haven’t worn any of these out yet, but I just wanted to share some of my finds from this amazing trip!
I'll update you all with a performance review on longevity and sillage for each once I’ve given them a proper wear!
