Hermés Terre d'Hermès Eau Givree (Sample Review)
My next sample review today - Eau Givree
The opening hits with a shock of sharp citron and cool juniper berries that feels like a burst of iced citrus zest on the skin, crisp and energising without any sweetness to soften it. That quickly melds into Timut pepper and mineralic undertones, which add a subtle spice and a slightly saline, earth-touched depth that keeps it from being just another citrus scent. As it settles, the citrus character remains vibrant but becomes more refined, with woody, mineral accents grounding the freshness and giving it a masculine edge that feels natural rather than bright for brightness’ sake. Performance is solid for a fresh EDP — it maintains a clear presence for most of the day with moderate projection and an elegant, refined trail that turns more skin-close over time. This will be perfect for my spring and summer daytime wear, casual or smart, when I want a sophisticated fresh scent that still has character. Overall, it’s a refreshing yet nuanced take on citrus wood, with a crisp, clean feel and a modern edge
Overall rating: 9/10
I’ve already ordered a full bottle — that says it all. The fragrance opening with that striking burst of citron that immediately commands attention and felt incredibly vibrant. Initially, it come across quite powerful, but as it settled, the dry down developed beautifully into exactly what I was hoping for - smooth, refined, and exceptionally well-balanced.
