Head to Head Review: Art of Universe vs. Turathi Electric

Today I am reviewing two Blue Talisman dupes. The first is Art of Universe by Lattafa and the second is Turathi Electric by Afnan.

Art of Universe's opening is a blast of sweet citrus and mint. At 15 minutes I begin to smell the sweetness from the fruits (not as citrusy) and some more of the mint. At 30 minutes, I am still getting more of a sweet accord than anything else. The mint has settled down and I have not picked up any of the spicyness from the Ginger. At 60 minutes into the wear the fragrance has settled down nicely and I am getting a sweet and minty scent that is well balanced. It is more sweet than expected. At dry down, this fragrance delivers a slightly powdery and sweet scent that sits very well on the skin. The performance of this fragrance is good. Longevity on my skin is about 7 to 8 hours and the projection at the beginning of the wear is also good with a scent bubble of about 2 feet for about 2 hours. Sillage was great for the first 90 minutes with the fragrance creating a scent trail of about 3 to 4 feet.

Turathi Electric's opening is a blast of minty yet semi-sweet citrus. At 15 minutes in, this fragrance has settled down and is not as sweet as AOU. Definitely more citrus accords. At 30 minutes the sweetness and citrus have settled down, but are still present. I am also starting to pick up some woodiness. At 60 minutes into the wear, I am somewhat confused because what the notes indicate is not what I am smelling. I am getting an almost floral and light sweet scent, but other than Orange Blossom there are no other florals listed in the notes. The woodiness that I started to pick up earlier has gone away. The dry down of this fragrance is fresh and sweet and sits on the skin quite softly. There is nothing harsh about this drydown and it is a great scent. Performance of this fragrance is good with the fragrance lasting on my skin about 5 to 6 hours. Projection at the opening was good with a scent bubble of about 2 feet for about 90 minutes. The sillage was moderate with a scent trail of 2+ feet for about 60 to 90 minutes.

Based on having tested Blue Talisman in the past, and having worn it a few times, to me the winner here is Turathi Electric. Art of Universe is a nice fragrance, and lasts a little longer, but is a much sweeter than the original fragrance. I feel that Turathi Electric is a better blended, smells closer, and the performance is very similar.
