Head to Head - LV Pacific Chill Dupes

Today I am doing a head to head comparison of Pacific Aura by Rayhaan and Rare Reef by Afnan. These are both considered dupes of LV Pacific Chill.

Pacific Aura opens with a blast of citrus notes which also has a minty undertone. At 15 Min - The citrus blast at the opening had totally settled down and the scent now is a very soft mint with some of the pungency from the Black Currant. At 30 Min - I am now getting the notes of Rose and Fig which bring balance to the mint and pungency that was rounding out the opening. At 120 Min - This has settled into a nice soft skin scent that is sweet and has undertones of floral and mint. Unfortunately, just like the original Pacific Chill, this is a skin scent at 3 hours. Total longevity is about 4 hours as a skin scent, so reapplication is definitely recommended if you are going to wear this as a fragrance for the day.

Rare Reef's opening is a mellow citrus with a light minty scent underneath. At 15 Min - Still soft but becoming a well balanced. The minty and sweetness remains steady on the skin and is projecting nicely. At 30 Min - I am still not picking up any sweetness, but am smelling the Violet and original Mint from the opening. At 120 Min - The sweetness never really developed on my skin. At full dry down I am getting Mint, Violet, and Basil. The good news, this performs better than Pacific Aura. At 2 hoursthe fragrance is still projecting a scent bubble of aboue 18" off my skin and if realases whiffs of the scent as you move around. Total longevity of this fragrance is about 5 - 6 hours. If this is going to be considered the SOTD then you need to be prepared to re-apply.

Final Decision: If I wanted to go with quality of scent I would go with Pacific Aura (which if you know me this is what really matters). To me this is a closer match to the original. If I just wanted better performance and was willing to sacrifice the scent, I would go with Rare Reef.
