Fragrance Over 50: Follow Up Fougère Fragrances
Team, as a follow-up to my previous question, I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite Fougère Fragrances, often described as a "barbershop" scent. These scents are built around a core of lavender, oakmoss, and courmarion (which smells like new-mown hay), often with added notes of herbs, spices, and woods. Understand, these are fragrances worn in an office environment. What are yours?
Houbigant Fougère Royal: this is the original Fougère, first created in 1882 and reformulated for the modern era. It is the epitome of the family, blending citrus, lavender, herbs, and warm amber and patchouli for a refined and timeless scent.
Penhaligon's Sartorial: this fragrance is inspired by the scents of a bespoke tailor's workroom. It is an aromatic Fougère that includes notes of beeswax, lavender, and oakmoss for a scent that is both traditional and modern.
Azzaro Pour Homme: this is a classic from 1978, this aromatic Fougère is a complex and charismatic blend of lavender, anise, basil, and clary sage, with a base of leather, amber, and musk.
There are many more I could add, but I'd like to hear from you. What are your favorite Fougère Fragrances and why?
