Day three of my Aromatix X fragrance reviews
Today in 8th spot - Aromatix X Royal Taboo
Inspired by Centaurus by Creed
From the first spray it the opening is bold and inviting with cardamom and cinnamon leading the way, creating a warm, aromatic spice that instantly grabs attention. Alongside the spices sits amber and benzoin, giving the opening a smooth resinous sweetness that feels slightly balsamic and comforting rather than sharp. The result is a spicy-sweet introduction that feels deep and sophisticated right from the start.
As the fragrance begins to settle, the heart reveals a darker and more textured character. Tobacco and cashmere wood move forward, giving the scent a smoky, velvety warmth that feels rich and slightly creamy. The tobacco isn’t harsh or overly dry - it has a smooth, almost sweet quality that blends beautifully with the woods. Heliotrope and jasmine add a soft powdery floral layer underneath, rounding out the smokiness and giving the composition a slightly sweet elegance that keeps the fragrance balanced rather than heavy.
In the dry down, the fragrance becomes warmer and more comforting as vanilla, tonka bean and patchouli take control of the base. The vanilla and tonka create a creamy, slightly gourmand sweetness that sits smoothly on the skin, while patchouli and dry woods give the scent an earthy backbone that stops it from becoming overly sugary. The overall effect is a deep, sweet-spicy tobacco fragrance with a smooth woody finish that lingers for hours.
Performance on me is strong thanks to the extrait concentration, easily delivering 8+ hours of longevity with solid projection early on before settling into a warm, noticeable scent bubble. The trail it leaves is rich, spicy and slightly sweet, making it the kind of fragrance that feels bold and confident without being overwhelming.
Overall rating: 7.8/10
Overall this leans warm, spicy and luxurious, making it best suited to cooler weather, evenings or occasions where you want something smooth, mysterious and a little indulgent.
It’s in 8th spot for me because even though it’s a lovely fragrance, it’s not as versatile compared the scents above it and more of an occasional scent but smells really good.
