“Treat every small victory like you won the Super Bowl.” ~Lewis Howes
We’ve been talking about reducing inflammation all week, and while celebrating small victories or wins may not directly affect inflammation, doing so certainly reduces stress – and as you’ll learn tomorrow, stress is directly linked to inflammation. 💯
Speaking of celebrating your wins, I want to focus on celebrating non-scale victories (NSVs) today! When you pay attention to and celebrate your NSVs, you’re taking a more balanced approach to overall health. Rather than focusing on the scale, you’re focusing on true indicators of health and/or progress! You’re also improving your emotional well-being, which is critical for long-term success along this journey. And in case you haven’t heard, a sustainable and balanced approach is what it’s all about around here!
Today we celebrate, friends! Consider an NSV you’ve had this week and share it with us below! 🎉
TAKING ACTION:
✅ Share your NSV with us below today! Remember, NSVs are great indicators of healthy changes! 🎉
🤯 Fun Fact Friday.....
Did you know… Your gut bacteria can influence your food cravings — and even hijack your brain?
Researchers have discovered that certain microbes in your gut can send signals through the vagus nerve to the brain, manipulating your taste preferences and cravings.
For example:
- Some sugar-loving bacteria can trigger cravings for more sugar — just so they can feed and multiply.
- Other microbes may produce neurotransmitters like dopamine or serotonin to reward you for eating what they want!
So the next time you’re suddenly desperate for that donut... it might not even be you who wants it. 👀
🦠 A balanced gut = more balanced cravings = more control over your health.
If you want to know how your gut health is, we can run a GI MAP...just shoot me a message for more info!!
