Benefits of Seasonal Eating
TAKING ACTION: ✅Share any questions you have about seasonal eating below! Happy Saturday!! Yesterday, we celebrated your weekly wins. Today, we finish up our conversation about the benefits of eating in-season! 🙌 ⭐️ Environmental and Hormonal Alignment: Eating seasonally may align with your body’s needs based on environmental cues, like warmer spring weather and longer daylight hours, increasing demand for lighter, hydrating, and detox-supporting foods (e.g., leafy greens like spinach and arugula, asparagus, or strawberries). This can support renewed energy levels, metabolic flexibility, and hormonal balance as the body shifts toward higher activity and renewal. ⭐️Cost-Effectiveness Encourages Healthy Choices: Seasonal produce is often cheaper and more abundant, making it easier to incorporate nutrient-rich foods into your diet. For example, affordable seasonal strawberries or asparagus can replace processed snacks, supporting weight management and overall health. I don’t know about you, but I’m always up for a financial benefit with the price of groceries these days! This week, we’ve covered six benefits of eating seasonally. I’m sure there are more, but these benefits are the most common. From health benefits to taste to financial, it seems like a no-brainer to choose foods that are in season. If this topic interests you, feel free to check out today’s ⬇️OPTIONAL READING⬇️ The Top 10 Reasons Why Eating Seasonally is Beneficial for Health and Sustainability

🎉 Friday WINS!!!
TAKING ACTION: ✅Share your weekly win or NSV below! Let’s celebrate them all today! 🎉 ✅Don’t forget to share your nutrition today, and make a plan for your weekend! Planning is key, especially on the weekends! 💯 It’s FRIDAY, and you know what happens on Fridays—we take a little break and celebrate! What I love so much about celebrating our weekly wins is the fact that we celebrate them all, big or small. Throughout the week, there are dozens of opportunities to snag a small win, but if you aren’t looking for them—if you aren’t aware (like we talked about a couple of weeks ago)---you’ll let them pass you by without even noticing them. 🎉Did you buy any seasonal food at the grocery store or choose a seasonal salad at a restaurant this week? 🎉Did you participate in the bonus ab circuits this week? 🎉Did you show up in our small group and engage this week? 🎉Did you pick up heavier weights on at least one set this week? 🎉Did you choose whole food nutrition when you were tempted to grab something processed? As you can see, anything counts as a small win. What matters the most—and what builds long-term habit change—is found in the small steps. Success is found in the small wins. 💯
🎉 Friday WINS!!!

Two Benefits of Seasonal Eating
TAKING ACTION: ✅Do you feel like your diet is diverse? Meaning, do you eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, etc. to give your body a variety of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals? Yesterday, we began discussing a couple of the benefits of foods that are in-season. Before we get to today’s benefits, I want to point out something else important—eating in-season allows for dietary diversity. The human body needs multiple nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, and this is possible by eating a variety of foods. When your diet matches the season, you will naturally consume a variety of whole foods, which means you’ll consume a wide array of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients! I don’t know about you, but that seems a lot more convenient than taking a handful of vitamins/supplements every day. 🙌 With that, let’s check out two more benefits of eating in-season ⬇️ ⭐️Fewer Pesticides and Preservatives: Seasonal produce, especially from local sources, often requires fewer chemical interventions to grow or preserve, reducing your exposure to potential toxins. For instance, spring greens like spinach may need less pesticide in their natural growing season due to favorable conditions. ⭐️Supports Gut Health: Seasonal eating aligns with dietary diversity (as mentioned above), which promotes a healthy gut microbiome. Spring foods like root vegetables (e.g., carrots, radishes) provide fiber and prebiotics, feeding beneficial gut bacteria, which can improve digestion and immunity. Still need more convincing when it comes to eating in-season? No worries—we’re going to talk about a couple of more benefits on Saturday! 🍓

Spring Dinner Ideas 💡
TAKING ACTION: ✅ What’s your favorite Spring fruit or vegetable? Share below! Yesterday, I introduced a brand new topic for most—the health benefits of eating in season (and more specifically, Spring since it’s Spring and all 😉). Before we talk about the benefits, however, I want to talk about some of the foods you can buy that are in season right now. This will allow you to grab some of them early in the week and get started with eating in season! 🍽️Spring Protein Sources: Lamb, eggs, salmon, Fava beans, and crab (or other shellfish) 🍽️Spring Fruits: Strawberries, apricots, blackberries, and cherries 🍽️Spring Vegetables: Asparagus, peas, artichokes, radishes, and spinach 🍽️Spring Grains: Oats, barley, quinoa, and buckwheat 🍽️Spring Nuts & Seeds: Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds, chia seeds, and almonds This list isn’t all-inclusive, but it’s a good starting point if you’ve never shopped for in-season foods. I’m also attaching a website/blog today that provides a more extensive list, and of course, Springtime recipes! Feel free to save it and use it as a resource this season! 🍒 24 Spring Dinner Ideas - Healthy Seasonal Recipes
