Walking in STEPtember 👟
TAKING ACTION: ✅STEPtember challenge this month! More details to come. ✅September is a transitional season into fall and when our bodies innately want to slow down and reflect- who is interested in doing a one-week No Background Noise Challenge this month?! Let me know in the comments!! Happy Monday, friends! Can you believe September is right around the corner? Wild, huh? 🤯 The good news is that next month also brings something else—our STEPtember Walking Challenge! This is one of the most fun challenges we do all year long and is the perfect way to ramp up our daily activity, improve our overall health, and shed a little extra fat! (Hopefully September is also going to bring some cooler weather, but I digress. 😅 ) We’re going to have a lot of fun this month, and of course, we’re going to learn! I’ve done my research and am collecting the most valuable (and interesting!) information on the benefits of walking—and I can’t wait to share it all with you! I encourage you to take advantage of our programming this month. This month’s activity (or lack thereof) will set you up and help you build habits for the upcoming holiday season. Now is the time to dig in, friends. Let’s go. 🔥

Wrapping up mindset week
TAKING ACTION: ✅How has exercise changed your mindset? Have you noticed a difference since you began? Share with us below! We’re wrapping up our mindset week, and there’s one more topic I want to discuss—how exercise improves your mindset. At the most basic level, every time you choose to exercise or complete a workout, your brain gets healthier. Even better than that, every time you do a workout when you really don’t want to, your brain literally changes because you took a different route than it’s used to. When you do this over and over, your neural pathways change. When your neural pathways change—your life begins to change. 💯 According to the article below, studies find that it takes between six months and a year of regular, consistent exercise to reap the cognitive benefits. The good news is that it can be any form of exercise. If you can’t strength train or participate in high-intensity training, try walking! The point is to get moving and keep going. Your body and your brain will thank you for it! 👏 I know today is a rest & recovery day, but I encourage you to check out the article below to learn more about how exercise improves your brain health! ⬇️ Exercise can boost your memory and thinking skills - Harvard Health __________________________________________________ ‼️ Don’t forget to share your personal referral link with friends and family & invite them to the community! Perspective
This was my birthday weekend, and all I wanted was to be with my kids—my 2 grown sons and my daughter-in-law. 🩷 Ideally, we’d all meet up and spend the day, or even just an evening, together. Didn’t matter what we did or where. Here’s how it actually went down… 😂 Friday — Drove 2.5 hours to watch my oldest son coach football. My DIL met us there. BIG game and a BIG 26-25 win! 🙌 We got to see Tyler for about 10 minutes after the game. Saturday — Helped host a 60th birthday party for my BFF. 🥳 Sunday — Drove 2 hours to see my niece get baptized and have lunch with the family. Got home just in time to see my youngest son for about an hour before he left to go back out of town for work. He’s a lineman and has been gone working storm restoration in Indiana for 3 weeks. And you know what? I’m completely okay with it. 😊🩷 We’ll celebrate my birthday all together soon. What’s so special about that? Just a few months ago, I was so sick and dealing with extreme anxiety, depression—all the things. I probably would’ve cried the whole weekend because it didn’t go the way I had pictured it. And with that many things packed into one weekend, I probably would’ve gotten overwhelmed and not wanted to do ANY of it. 😑 But I’m flipping the script. 🩷 So what if I didn’t get all of my kids in one room at the same time? I GOT TO SEE ALL 3 OF THEM. 🥰 I got to love on them. I got to feel ridiculously proud of them. We had people stop us at the game just to tell us how much they love Coach Hood. 🩷 Tucker came home with stories about the people they’ve gotten power back to after WEEKS without it. And my DIL and I got to sit together, catch up, and celebrate that big win. That sounds like a pretty dang good birthday weekend to me. 🥰 I am sooooo thankful for @Aleiah Barker and Be Well! She’s helping me heal my gut, change my mindset, and find my happy again. 🩷 And THAT might just be the best birthday gift of all.🎁
