“Instead of turning to food, turn to yourself.” –Unknown
Here’s the deal. There aren’t many other things in life that give you a quick dopaminergic “feel good” rush like processed food. It’s sad, but it’s true. If it wasn’t true, we wouldn’t have a 42%+ obesity rate in the United States alone.
People turn to food. The interesting part about this is the fact that you don’t even have to be sad for your brain to say, “I want this”. Your brain just knows that these franken foods give you a quick rush and that indulging in them makes you feel good — temporarily — until the next time you crave that “feel-good” feeling…💯
The truth is, ANY form of dopaminergic (dopamine) energy is short-lived. You’re not going to feel good 100% of the time. That last cookie you consumed is going to wear off. That last intense workout is going to wear off. That last shopping spree is going to wear off. The rush from that last risky chance you took is going to wear off.
Friends, this is why it’s important to find healthy tools to give you those “feel good” moments. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to feel good. Healthy dopamine levels are critical for a healthy life and body. But are your dopamine sources healthy or unhealthy? That’s the question you need to ask yourself.
Again, there aren’t many other things in life that give you a quick dopaminergic “feel good” rush like processed food. That’s why you must start retraining your system and your dopamine requirements. I encourage you to show up here tomorrow to learn more! ⭐️
TAKING ACTION:
- Can you see now how everything (in terms of dopamine hits) is temporary? Wouldn’t you rather choose a healthy option for the necessary dopamine releases you need?
