Hello everyone, Jamie here, from Ireland. In my youth I was very active, snowboarding my way around the world. Then when it stopped, I got lazy & depressed. I didn’t feed my body with nutrition or exercise. After years of neglect, I was told I’d need a total hip replacement before I turned 40 & that I’d never snowboard again. Now I’m about to turn 50 and I’ve never felt better, or in better shape. I’ve fallen back in love with exercise, lost 70lbs and snowboarding better than I have in years. I want to increase my core strength & flexibility, and I like the ethos of Calisthenics, so I found myself here. Looking forward to finding new ways to challenge myself and it seems like this is the place.
- My current goal is to strengthen my core & lower back, and get more flexibility in my hips.
- My future goal would be to pull off a handstand, that would be pretty cool. I don’t even know what a muscle up is but enough of you talking about them so I’ll probably want to do that next when I find out!
