Oh....
Section 2 of my Snapshot just named something I've never let myself say out loud: leaving teaching wasn't just a career change, it was grief. And the "house tidy for a day, chaos by day four" cycle? Apparently that's not a willpower issue. It's a nervous system thing. Wild what gets revealed when someone actually asks the right questions.
