Look Who I met! 🌟
I had the pleasure of meeting my new ADHD Harmony friend, @Tuuli Gress, in person! In true ADHD fashion, we were both late (I couldn’t find my keys, shocking I know 😂). We had so much fun getting to know one another, before we knew it, 2+ hours had passed. Tuuli is an absolute ray of sunshine — sweet, funny, and full of life. This is what I love about this community — the people we connect with here get it! 🌟

Voices
I was chatting with my daughters earlier today and one of them who we think has Audhd asked me if I have voices in my head. My other daughter and I, who have adhd both said no, we don’t hear voices but there is a lot going on most of the time. I wanted to know whether anyone else has voices or just thoughts without voices in their head?

Hi Linda, Different brains work in different ways. Did you know there are people who have absolutely no sensory memory? No pictures, no sound, no tastes… I think part of the issue with knowing if others “hear voices” is that we don’t really know what “hear” might mean to someone else. I hear sound in my memory but it isn’t audible so is that hearing voices or not? 🤷‍♀️

@Linda Trup It is such an interesting brain difference. Do you know what she does have going on memory wise? Can she recall sound or taste?
What did I learn from the ADHD Snapshot?
Just finished all 3 sections of my ADHD Snapshot and it connected something I hadn't seen before: I've been calling myself "a waste of space", "unable to finish things or do anything right", while literally holding an entire household together, studying and working. Apparently the full report unpacks that contradiction, and the Awakening Assessment goes even deeper. Nine honest questions down, ready for fifteen.

@Leonie Osborne You are welcome. I use to do it on paper but for the last two months, I’ve been using the FINCH app tracing my daily things like exercise, tasks around the house, personal grooming, etc. So I get a little dopamine hit every time I check something off. If there is a big task I’m procrastinating on, I add it to the app and then get to check of small wins toward completion.

@Leonie Osborne Some people love it; others don’t. I didn’t like it when I first tried it years ago but another ADHD friend suggested I check it out again as they’d made many changes. Now it’s a fun, uplifting, empowering part of my day.
Oh. Wow.
Just finished the first section of my ADHD Snapshot and discovered something I couldn't see from inside my own story: the reason I can build a 30-volunteer initiative from nothing but can't hold a 9-to-5 isn't because something broke. It's the same brain doing both. Fifty years of being called "too much" but not knowing why and it turns out the container was just too small. I have a sense this is going to be life altering.

Brain Fog
Into my second day of a course through work. My brain crashed today but I stayed there fighting not to get up and wander about. Fidgeting with my legs feet and hands. Thankfully there's had outs via email of material covered each day. I can't face reading it later so I'll have to read them all tomorrow evening before my Exam on Friday grrr.
